Preseason! And Our First "Meet"

I've been pretty busy lately moving in at school and spending every waking moment with my team, so sorry for the long break in posts. I moved in to my dorm two weeks ago for preseason and it's been great! Both our women's and men's teams look really promising at this point. If we can keep everyone uninjured, that is. Our girls team is very small this year. Only eight of us all together! But quality is more important than quantity, and I feel like we are all around the same level and have been doing some great pack running.

Today was our first "meet." It was more of a scrimmage-type meet. We ran at Fresh Pond in Cambridge against Lesley College. It was very friendly and casual. No uniforms or racing shoes or anything. Women did one lap around the pond for 2.5 miles, while the men did 2 laps, for 5. I came in 2nd place for the women and was the first Lasell women to finish. I was very happy with my race, and I felt really good throughout the whole race. My time was 16:58, a 6:47 pace.

I'm excited for our first official meet next weekend at Roger Williams. It should be a good race. I can't wait to be in full uniform and racing spikes and running on grass/trail.
